Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS or KP) is an international protocol, reinforced by the United Nations and by the governments of the countries involved, which binds members to a series of transparency requirements and strict controls on origin, to prevent placing illegal or uncertified precious stones on the market. The Kimberley Process is reinforced by a United Nations mandate. Every exported diamond must be accompanied by a certificate attesting to its compliance with the Kimberley Process and authenticated by governmental authorities. The Damiani Group guarantees that all the diamonds used for its Maisons’ creations are 100% conflict-free, in compliance with the Kimberley Process.

Certificates

Every gem used to create our Maisons’ jewelry is supplied with certificates issued by the world’s leading international gemological laboratories. These certify and guarantee the authenticity of the diamonds and of the information relating to their features. Proof of authenticity is certified by evaluating carat, colour, clarity, cut, proportion and quality, and results in a sort of “identity card” relating to each individual diamond. A diamond certificate makes it easy to evaluate and compare stones, and is a guarantee of quality.

Our diamonds are accompanied by a variety of certifications, issued either by our independent laboratory or by leading international laboratories, such as the GIA and HRD.

Certificates

Founded in 1931 in the USA, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world’s leading diamond certification institute. The GIA network boasts laboratories in all major countries. Here, the stones are analysed, and the certificate number is laser-engraved on the girdle of every diamond. The institute’s certificates offer the highest standards of reliability, consistency and integrity. With its “Report Check“, you can also check a diamond’s certificate number online (www.gia.edu), view its features in detail, and download a digital copy of the certificate.

Established in 1973 by the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC), the Hoge Raad voor Diamant (HRD) is the best known gemological institute in Europe. The HRD gemological certificate is issued by the High Council of Diamonds in Antwerp, the city where the most important European diamond exchange is based. The Antwerp laboratories conduct continuous research essential for the production of technologically advanced equipment able to guarantee excellent standards in the sale and purchase of diamonds. Thanks to the “Report Search No.” It is possible to check online (www.hrdantwerp.com) the diamond certificate number to view all the features in detail and download a digital copy.

The professional Calderoni guarantee, validated by techniques and analysis tools used when examinating the stone, certifies that every diamond of the Maison is natural and that the characteristics described on the blister are actually those of the stone contained in it.
